Ovacik Rental Villas

The resorts of Ovacik and Hisarönü are located up the mountain, approx 4km, above Oludeniz and have grown considerably over the last 15 years. Hisaronu has become a lively resort in its own right due to the planning restrictions and lack of space to expand in Oludeniz. Although there are not any beaches in Hisaronu and Ovacik many tourists choose to stay here for the refreshing mountain breeze and slightly cooler temperatures. There are a large selection of self catering villas and apartments with swimming pools to choose from.  There is a wider choice of shops, restaurants and lively bars playing music than in Oludeniz. Ovacik is more peaceful than its close neighbour Hisaronu and a good base for those wishing to walk in the surrounding countryside.

Hisaronu is the more lively town especially at night. Most bars, shops and restaurants are situated on the long main central street. There are also many shops here selling excursions round the local area.

Ovacik does not have a resort centre and is spread out in the valley at the foot of Babadag mountain. Most accomodation is situated within easy walking distance to the main road or into Hisaronu centre. Ovacik is the start of the Lycian Way walking route that runs along the beautiful coastline all the way to Antalya. In early and late season Ovacik can be filled with walking groups and hikers keen to explore the area on foot. Also ideal for nature lovers and keen photographers.

Some ideas for things to do in Hisaronu and Ovacik are - Go Karting, Talk of the Town show, Lunapark fairground, Monday market, paragliding, Turkish bath (hammam), visit the beaches at Oludeniz, Kabak or Gemiler, take a walk round the Ghost Village at Kayakoy, horse riding, quad biking, go on a daily boat trip from either Oludeniz or Fethiye or try the sunset boat trip. Recently opened in Ovacik is a new aquapark.

Fethiye and Oludeniz are a short dolmus (bus) ride away. The dolmus runs every 5 - 10 minutes in summer and less frequently in winter. During the summer a dolmus can also be taken up Babadag Mountain to watch the paragliders taking off and enjoy a meal or drinks while taking in the views at the restaurant.
