Gocek was called ‘Kalimche', in ancient times and is located between Fethiye and Dalaman. Gocek appeals to a more sophisticated crowd requiring luxury accomodation and fine dining. A small village, surrounded by pine forests, located 22 km from Dalaman airport centres around the harbour with six marinas. Due to its location, Gocek enjoys a high potential for yacht tourism with many small islands and coves to explore. In 1988, Gocek was declared a Registered Area of Special Protection, therefore, multi-storey buildings are not allowed. Gocek does not have its own beach but a short distance away is the sandy beach at Inlice.
Gocek is a popular location for travellers who are looking for a quieter town and life centres around the busy harbour. With the many villas and apartments complexes round the town life can be as busy or as quiet as you life. In the town there are a choice of restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes and budgets.
Go to Gocek from Fethiye by dolmus or a Sunday boat trip to take in the town of Gocek, the weekly market and a chance for a swim on the way home.
